Too often we forget the rest of that phrase and take “pay back” in our own hands.

Although we may not plan out elaborate schemes or plot to someonelse’s demise –

TOO OFTEN we  take it upon ourselves to “prove a point” or  to give people what we THINK they “deserve.”

The Word of God explains that Love is an important element needed in your everyday walk with God. The true measure of Love is how you treat those around you.

Yes, I’ve pretty sure we’ve ALL been guilty of revenge at least once. You know how it goes when you’re mad! :

You don’t speak, you don’t offer to help (thinking… SHE BETTER NOT ASK ME FOR ANYTHING!” lol) , or you don’t open the door, you build your defense by telling other people and getting them all on your side,…. and although it’s not your intention, you kind of secretly “wait on their failure” :(

I know, some of you all might be thinking “….BUT MS. ELLE, THAT WHAT SHE GETS!”

It’s easy to feel justified when we do wrong in order to correct someone’s wrong- but we shouldn’t.  Even when we’ve been slighted.

The Word of God says in 1 Corinthians 13:4 – “Love suffers long and is kind… it does not behave rudely…” (click to read the scriptures)

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said: The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

Now ask yourself: How should your neighbor measure you?

The answer is how you choose to treat people in times of frustration or anger.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how close you believe your walk with God is, if you can’t walk in love and treat other people with love, then you have not accomplished anything (paraphrased) – 1 Corinthians 1-3
