One thing that I have found out during my time of purging and pruning this good ole closet of mine; is that God never leaves us high and dry. He has planted a nice little thing in women that I like to call “improvisation”!
Have you ever picked out an outfit, seemingly had everything you needed, but once you put it on something just wasn’t right? I have this episode all the time. It’s in those moments that God allows me to relish in being a women. Quickly I run to the closet, grab one of my dad’s neck ties (I live with my parents by the way, so that’s a plus), and make it work with my outfit. I can make it into a huge bow or tie it some neat way to make the outfit come together.
One of my favorites from this past summer was grabbing a dingy scarf, I would probably only tie my hair up with at night, and making it into some awesome head bow or a bow tie. It’s super cute, with spending no money at all.
As I’m getting older, I am learning how to use what I already have instead of spending money on things that I’ll dismiss next season anyway.
Don’t throw away that $30 shirt that has a random bleach stain or hole in it, get some scissors and become your own fashion designer. Where there are holes…there is a way, to fix them that is;)
Also, if you have a wardrobe that you love, but become bored with; try spicing up your normal R.A.G.S. by piecing some things together and making it WORK!!!!
Let’s try it! :) Here is one dress worn three different ways!!!
Next time your outfit just doesn’t give you what you’re looking for, throw on two necklaces instead of one, pin your hair up some neat way, make a belt out of scarves, cuff your pants, roll your boots down…
Whatever you do DON’T miss out on these perfect times to put your creativity to the test. It will make you feel better and help you to appreciate God for creating you beautifully fabulous! After all, He made us the way we are; so just think how much He delights in seeing you operate in the fullness of who He’s created.
Until next time ladies, keep it modest and keep it holy! Blessings
P.S.: A good knick – knack to have are those little Velcro adhesive dots so when you create belts and bow ties they stay in place the way you want them. They’re super cheap at your local fabric stores!
As Always Peace and Pout
