Ashlee “Smashbeauty” Jackson– Writer for FASHION-4-CHRIST
My name is Ashlee, but everyone calls me “Smash”. I live in Columbus, OH-IO (I’m NOT even a Buckeye fan lol). I can’t believe I’m 27 peaking at 30 and I’m absolutely fine with that. I am in love with Jesus Christ and everything I do is for Him.
I adore makeup artistry and the art of fashion. I ALWAYS wanted to be an artist, but never had that “natural ab” to draw; so I use faces and bodies as a substitute. :-) it works! My ministry is exposure and transparency which i believe is necessary in every aspect of life but not popular. I’m cool with that. I’m grateful for the opportunity to get involved with my girl Elle. I’m looking forward to spreading love to all my ladies across the nation through Ellescoop.com.

Welcome to Graciously Learning! It is my prayer that as you frequent this page you will gain insight on what to expect during and after college, the do’s and don’ts as a working professional (from my standpoint, of course). Stories, examples, scriptures, and ways to push through tough seasons will also be included on this page. I am transparent about everything that I face and I can’t wait to share my experiences with you!!! What’s the point of going through tough times if you can’t use them to help and share with others?!?
Here’s a little background information about myself:
I am a small town Georgia girl traveling down an unknown road to greatness! “Why an unknown road,” you ask. I have no clue what God’s plans are for me or where I’m headed, but I do know that all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord. (Romans 8:28) God desires to prosper me in the end; therefore, greatness is in His plan for me! Currently, I currently work with juveniles in my hometown. I have the job that I just knew I would love. After graduating college, I knew I wanted to go home, help the youth in my town, open this non-profit after school program, and everything was going to be great! Well…that’s not the case. I no longer enjoy working with children and I definitely don’t want to be in South Georgia all my life! LOL So, travel down this road with me as the Holy Spirit leads me and teaches me about life.
As always, I’m “Graciously Learning!”
I hope that this column will first reveal to you that it is never too late to start taking action towards improving your health and wellness, but, it really is up to you to take action. God says in His Word “that faith without works is dead.” (James 2:20; 26). It is my hope that this column will provide encouraging and inspiring direction to those who have come to a place in their life where they know it is time to take control and make the lifestyle changes necessary to feel better. Am I an expert in the area of health and wellness? No, I am not. However, I am someone God inspired to do something about my own health and wellness and to share with others as He leads and guides me.
Here’s a little more about me. I am first a child of the Most High King, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; and am forever seeking to please Him. I am a wife 32+ years; and mother of five beautiful children. I have seven grandchildren plus many other children I did not birth, God children, nieces, nephews and friends. Although I was born and raised in “inner city” or “the hood” of a large metropolitan area in the North, I have lived in Kentucky most of my adult life. I am an Evangelist, called to minister unto His people; and I have a wonderful professional career as the Director of Social Services for a large agency and part-time professor at a major University.
Yes, God has truly blessed me, but I am also someone who has struggles. Even though I have not struggled with obesity during my life time, I have had issues with weight, eating properly, chronic conditions, and just generally taking good care of myself. When I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and high cholesterol in my mid-thirties, I knew I had to do something.
Thank God He inspired me to get up and move and inspire others to Move to the Beat of Jesus’ Love as we make lifestyle changes that will enhance us.
